Stellenbosch Business School was the first African business school to receive all three major international accreditations: AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. The school is located in the Tyger Valley business district in the northern part of Cape Town, which is about half way between Cape Town’s CBD and Stellenbosch.

Our portfolio of academic programmes
  • MBA: Our triple accredited MBA has a strong focus on quantitative modules as well as responsible leadership development, strategy setting, and multi-criteria decision-making skills. This 2-year programme is offered in 2 formats – modular (blocks of classes spread over time) and blended learning (combination of on campus and online). Both formats allow you to study while you work. You can choose one of these pathways: General MBA, MBA in Health Care Leadership, MBA in Project Management, or MBA in Managing International Organisations. The MBA includes an International Study Module abroad.
  • MPhil Development Finance: If you want to specialise in development finance to help unlock Africa’s growth potential, this MPhil is for you. You will learn how to shape finance policies and programmes, gain an understanding of the role of development finance institutions, and contribute to sustainable development in Africa. This 2-year programme is offered in 2 formats – modular (blocks of classes spread over time) and blended learning (combination of on campus and online). 
  • MPhil Futures Studies: You will learn how to make strategic long-term decisions to create a desired future for your organisation. You will also learn how to respond to change and make the right decisions to thrive as a result of change. This 2-year MPhil is aimed at strategists, MDs, CEOs, managers and consultants involved in strategic planning. Presented in the blended learning format.
  • MPhil Leadership Coaching: This MPhil will equip you with the skills to support the growth of others through coaching. You can use this professional qualification to establish your credentials as a coach, allowing you to start generating an income from coaching almost immediately. This 2-year degree is offered in the blended learning format (combination of on campus and online) and it is accredited by the Belgium-based EMCC and South Africa’s COMENSA.
  • PhD: This 4-year PhD is for you if you want to help solve real-world problems through research on PhD level, and if you want to establish yourself as an expert in your field. This PhD is awarded solely on the successful completion of a research-based dissertation. Year 1 consists of 2 blocks of on-campus sessions (2 weeks each) to help you prepare and finalise your research proposal. Years 2 to 4 consist of 1 on-campus block (1 week each year) plus supervised research. 
  • Postgraduate Diploma Business Management and Administration: You will acquire the managerial and entrepreneurial skills to start a business and improve your leadership skills. It will enable you to see the bigger picture in terms of the global, African and local ecosystems in which you operate. You will also gain an understanding of the value of entrepreneurship and innovation in business. This PGDip (which includes an entire module on responsible leadership) can give you access to our MBA. This PGDip is offered in the modular and blended learning formats over 1 year or 2 years.
  • Postgraduate Diploma Development Finance: This PGDip will equip you with critical skills to help unlock Africa’s growth potential by helping to shape development projects and policies, and design and implement financing interventions for infrastructure projects. You will also develop your leadership skills – this PGDip includes an entire module on responsible leadership. Ideal for entry-level to mid-level managers. The PGDip is offered in the blended learning format over 1 year or 2 years.
  • Postgraduate Diploma Futures Studies: You will acquire strategic foresight to make long-range decisions, and to gain an understanding of the forces and trends that shape the future. You will also learn how to mitigate risks and identify opportunities. It is the ideal starting point to become a strategist and forward thinker. The PGDip is offered in the blended learning format over 1 year or 2 years.
  • Postgraduate Diploma Futures Studies – Managing New Technologies: Acquire the digital and data literacy to manage new technologies – even if you’re not in IT – and help to strengthen your organisation’s resilience amidst the increasing digitisation of services, products, devices and ways of working. The ideal programme for leaders, managers, consultants and strategic planners involved in planning their organisations’ technological future. The PGDip is offered in the blended learning format over 1 year or 2 years.
  • Postgraduate Diploma Project Management: This PGDip will equip you with the skills to confidently manage projects in a competitive business environment. You will learn how to manage the leadership dimensions of project management in an integrated manner to build organisational capacity. In short, you will acquire a scarce skill that makes business sense. This PGDip can also give you access to our MBA. This PGDip is offered in the modular and blended learning formats over 1 year or 2 years.
  • Postgraduate Diploma Financial Planning: This PGDip will help you to become a responsible financial planner who can positively impact the future means of your clients. Importantly, you can use this PGDip as starting point to obtain CFP® professional accreditation. This 1-year programme is offered in the blended learning format. Stellenbosch Business School is an FPI-recognised education provider. 
  • Postgraduate Diploma Leadership Development: The focus of this programme is learning to lead on 4 levels: Me, We, Work, World. It will enable you to shift from manager to responsible leader, and to make an impact by consciously developing your leadership skills. You will learn how to unlock team effectiveness, harness diversity, and find your authentic leadership voice. This 1-year programme is presented in the blended learning format.
  • Postgraduate Diploma Leadership Development for NPOs: With this PGDip, you will acquire the leadership skills to help professionalise the social sector. You will learn how to lead your NPO to fulfil its social purpose, and how to build organisational capacity and stakeholder relations. This 1-year programme is presented in the blended learning format.
